Stop - Hammerstien!

Eric Moore » Sep 21 '16

From fellow board member Graham, comes the third of his ABC Warrior figures, their leader, Hammerstien.

Its in scale with the previous Joe Pineapples and Blackblood but, being the hero type, is much larger.

And i'm glad Graham has included the same thickness base at it keeps the continuity going and reinforces what a whopper he is.

Looks to be a simple build - a few seam lines here and there, and looks like Graham has taken care of the air holes.

Part fit looks to be excellent, and you're given the option of two heads - helmet on, helmet off.

I'm going with on.

Expect an update soon!

As the fella is so big, he'd be a literal pain to hold and paint.

So i'm going to do him in sub-assemblies.

Head built first:

And what a whopper he'll be - look at his legs alongside his teamate, Blackblood!

That's the sub-assemblies primed and based in Games Workshops "Mournfang Brown".

This is the Simon Bisley version of Hammerstein, as seen in the tale "The Black Hole". Which is B&W.

So, for colour guidance, i've gone to the next artist to do a take in colour, Kevin Walker. And he does the fella in quite a warm, chestnut colour, so i'll be putting something similar on top.

This is about as far as i'm going with the highlighting  any lighter and it'll look like he's made of rust!

Old Red Eyes is back. Well, eventually - i had done his eyes in white, then Clear red to suggest lenses.

But the eyes are too small and too set back to allow the light to catch them properly, so i've gone with bog standard Red.
