Started added some greeblies. The DRADIS dish is from one of those small snap kit TIE Interceptors, the light brown parts are from some 1:144 Morser Loki & Thor kits I had in the stash (lots of tiny little bits on those kits, although a bit rubbery).

On the bottom I`ve used some WAVE parts and some bits from the FM Slave 1 Kit (spare bits, don`t worry). Figure these could be hard-point docking ports given the lack of shuttle capability.

Have been looking at both the TOS and TRS Galacticas to see what type of kit parts were used, just a pain given the small scale. Might have to trim off the old engine mounting blocks so I can get some pipe work in there, but we`ll see what happens. I have lots of little PE bits and bobs which might find their way onto this build.

Wow! That was my busiest February ever! Now things have settled down slightly, I`ve had a tad more time to monkey around with this build.

Have started re-cladding the alligator head on the Medusa and generally adding more greeblies.

By the way, I have mounted two large cannons in the nose (it is a Gunstar after all) - both brass nozzles from lighters (had fun extracting those I can tell you!).

I actually made some progress over the weekend - managed to grab an hour and start to drill out the rest of the engines for the Triton. Have also added one nameplate to the Medusa, plus having a think about how to handle the rest of the plating and other detailing on it.

No pics yet, want something more exciting to show you!

It`s been a long time but just a little update from the shipyards. The Moebius classic Galactica kits have arrived, so I`ve been looking at options for these and how they could integrate into the fleet.

I would like to do something similar to this: http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=42995 which is a hybrid of the classic and NS style as I particularly love the through-deck flight pods.

But that`s a long way off, lots still to do with the other Battlestars. But here`s a really rough shot of the three kits together to give you an idea of relative sizes (the classic kit comes in quite a small box but this is really packed and is an impressive size kit).

What`s this? Some progress? Yep, believe it or not, the Triton now has an engine attached! First of eight mind you, but it`s a start. Nearly finished carving out the engine covers and putting random tubes and stuff inside so I thought I may as well put one on.

I then had to put a little shim of styrene between the ducting and the engine as I wasn`t too comfortable with such a massive gap. Not sure if you can see it in the next photo, but it`s there ...

Blimey Mark, what happened to make you build?

This is great kit and I must just finish those last few decals to complete mine.  That gap between the engine and the main hull was the only issue I found in it.

I had some spare time - rare these days!

Lots of little gaps that need addressing: the pipes at the rear, the RCS areas at the rear, etc. will be sorted one way or another (one day).
