Did think about that and left them off...

Hopefully the engines will fit better for you than they did for me.

Okay - I couldn`t help myself from getting hold of the Paragrafix PE set for the Pegasus. I have only got the `exterior` set as I`m not worried about the hangars.

First order of business is to change the name of this Mercury-class Battlestar. Behold, the Triton!

Why go for a different name I hear you ask? Well, I figured if I was building the Pegasus, everyone can point out all the differences and say "it doesn`t look like that on screen". Nobody has ever seen the Triton, so I can pretty much do what I like! Coz that`s how I roll y`all!

Anyway, decided to make a start on the landing bays and have used the forced perspective decals that came with the kit as well as the partial landing bay stripes. They seem to work okay.

I have also added some PE to the middle section of the dual landing bay. Now, there are some nice Viper launch tube PE strips but they needed to go on the inside of the bay, facing the ship. I figured (1) what a stupid place to launch an accelerated fighter from - they would have to do a very quick 90° turn to avoid crashing into the ship and (2) you can`t see them ... so I`m saving those for something else :)

A little bit high on glue and Micro Set fumes now, so will go away for a bit before tackling the lower bay.

By the way, picked up the PE set from a US seller on eBay who had them on offer, so cost less than buying from a UK-based reseller or from Paragrafix direct!

And I know the landing bay has the Pegasus BS number on it, which is different to the Triton, but I don`t care as there`s not a lot I can do about it!

Yeah, I`m pretty pleased with how they look. Forces me to to something I don`t like doing though - pre-painting before assembly ...

Got a set of the Galactica PE on their way as well for the two other Battlestars.

I like the look of these as well: http://www.admiraltymodelworks.com/admiral/component/virtuemart/science-fiction-space/galactica-guns-detail.html?Itemid=0

They are a big improvement on the originals....these kits must be leading the pack in terms of number of after-market add-ons available ?

There are quite a few resin replacement parts out there - all depends how much you are willing to spend. A lot of these seem to be 3D printed rather than cast - welcome to the 21st Century!
