OK, good progress with this.  I ran off a sheet of decals and have started applying them to the hull.  They`re going to have to go all over and my optimistic 1 A4 sheet is looking mightily depleted already.  So going to need a few more for definite.

Just cutting them out and fitting them on while trying to keep the orientation of the blocks more or less the same.  Surprisingly wasn`t too time consuming to do.  But think I will do a template for the engines as they`re are 8 of the buggers.

Think it`s looking OK so going to plug on.

Nice one. It really is a big heavy kit.

Still going.  Gone along the back and started the hanger pod.

Should have taken photos to loop together into a movie to show them going on.  Maybe next time!

They work well - add a nice bit of texture to the surface.

Bit of a bugger to get them to conform around all the raised detail but a bit of Sol and Set and they seem to be going down OK.
By the way, did you put in the false perspective decals before or after assembly?  I thought I`d add them afterwards and they just snapped in half  and then appeared to be too big to fit.  Really odd and only thing I could think of was that they should have gone in first.

I`m putting them on before assembly and they do overlap the bottom slightly. I kind of regret not putting some little detail or something on the insides of the landing bay entrance, but it`s no biggy.

I don`t think I`ll be going the route of decaling texture (you know how much I hate putting on large decals!), might try a different route and see what happens.

Continuing progress...starting to get a bit bored of it now but this is only the third sessions and getting quicker.  First was an hour, then 40 minutes and this time only 30 mins.

Finished the port landing bay.

And completed the top of the front pod.

Will try and finish the starboard hanger and side of the middle tonight.  Then will start to work on the underside.  Will be doing some decals for the sides of the pylons and the engines to save having to fit and cut each piece separately.

Basically finished the top surfaces with exception of the engines.

And to keep myself going in the (now quite boring) task, a comparison to the previous build of the Galactica (nee Excalibur).

Not too bad at all.  Would even think the same person built them....
