Bandai 1/48th Snowspeeder

Eric Moore » Mar 23 '16

Seeing folks' builds of the new Bandai 1/12th Star Wars figures has given me a hankering to have a go at one.

Not a figure yet though, as i need to fill the Snowspeeder gap in my collection - i've got the Retrokit one but, being 1/72nd, is tiny.

You can see here i've got the original Airfix version, but that's in a VERY sorry state.

So am thinking 1/48th is a nice, midway mark.

Right, that's the cockpit and pilots done, with hull in Primer.

Had a blast so far, this kit is easily up there with the best of Fine Molds, but pips them in that its PUSH FIT.

Note i don't put "snap fit" - that conjures up nightmares of kits that were little more than toys, with part being very bad due to the concessions made to the concpet.

That's not the case here, here its an excellent kit that has part fit SO good that glue is simply not needed.

Aaaand, she's done!

Had a real blast making this, and here's to Bandai doing more 1/48th scale Star Wars kits!

Looks great!

This is one of the Bandai kits I have yet to get- the old MPC kit was a nice size but I really want an accurate one.

Your weathering looks spot on- not too heavy like most buildups I have seen.
