I just ordered up one set of the jawa figures from the black series. Last one in stock on amazon, so thought I had better snap them up.

Two Jawas received.

Alun, how would you do the eyes? I was going to pose and fill and paint the little chaps, but realised the lights would need to be done first.  I am not sure how easy it's going to be to drill ito the bodies, i assume the best way would be up throuhg the legs or something so the wiring could be under the table?

Help!!!

For C3P0 I used a SMD LED for each eye.  They're pretty tiny but very delicate.  I ran the wire through the body and down one leg and will wire it up underneath a base piece to a battery.  These LEDs are 3V so I'll use a couple of AAs together with a smallish resistor just to provide some protection.

Definitely becomes more tricky when the piece is solid as you'll have to drill out the eyes and then a channel to get the lighting in.  But the SMDs should make it a lot easier than trying to get even the smallest regular LED into position.

You got a picture of them?

Yes I know what you mean.

I was wondering if just one LED in the centre of the head might work with some kind of clear glue or resin over the eye sockets so they are not as bright as a full on LED

I'll have a think.

EDIT: I found these, do you think these would do in amber?

next question, did you want any particular pose?

Hey Paul

I can post you some of the ones I have got to have a go with if that would help?  Drop me a private message.

Possible a single LED might work though if can get the light to reflect a bit.  Problem is they are so directional.

Going for the selling droids scene so anything which fits with that would be really cool!  Something fairly neutral perhaps as it would be hard to line up the Jawas and the droids with them being a fair distance apart.

I think I can make it work with what I have plus some extras.

I could really do with knowing the timescale on this. I will also, at some point, need some idea about the krayt dragon skeleton scale.

Regards

Sorry Paul, keep zoning on this at the moment.

The show is the weekend of 25/26 June 2016.  So bit of time yet, but sure it will go quickly.

The Jawas to go with C3PO and R2D2 are something of a side project, although would be lovely to get it done as well, and the main one for me is the Sandtroopers build.  Which is where the skeleton will come in.

Soon after Christmas I hope to get the base for this assembled so I can start working on it, but this means clearing the garage out to make some space (never the easiest task in the world).  Hoping that once I have the main Sandtroopers onto this at the front and the escape pod in (at whatever scale that is going to be) I'll be able to figure out a rough size for the skeleton in line with the forced perspective of the scene.  Have an idea to include a Sandcrawler at the very rear of the scene and that will set the change in scale across the back.

Hope that helps clarify and hugely grateful for your assistance with this!

Thanks
