eh up all,

i don`t know if everyone know`s that i`ve been buildin a studio scale millenium falcon for about 5 years now,i`ve not been buyin kits for it i`ve been scratchin all the parts myself apart from 3 panther tanks for the back decks(engine area)

it`s been a slow build with lots of highs and lows.

here are some images of the top and bottom havles.

so this week i`ve been buildin the cockpit nose and some more of the tunnel i think mine is a bit short.i`ll post some more tomorrow with the work i`ve done over the last couple of weeks..hope ya like cheers peza

Looks fantastic mate...it`s going to look superb when it`s finished.....and five years is nothing compared to some of my projects so don`t worry about it...

eh up all.

here`s another update for ya,i started to make the cockpit cone and a little tunnel extension

cos i thought mine was to small.first off i made the gig for the cockpit and while that was dryin i made the tunnel from some clear tubin which was the same size as the original tunnel

on the next image you can see that i got the shape boxed off with 2 skins of half mil thick styrene.

then i made a little collar to fit round the tunnel so i can just slip the cockpit cone over.

next i started to cut out the window`s usin my pin vice and some nail snipper`s,i would cut out 1 window at a time and line it with come half mil thick styrene(i same to be usin it alot at the mo)

after i got all the windows cut and lined i filed them down to something like, and started on the end circular window and the sloped nose which i made up with some card first and some 1 mil thick styrene for a change.

and finally on the cone i got the 3 support`s in the front.but in this image below you can see that im makin a grill for around the tunnel.

well after along time of cuttin i got the grill cut and mounted on the tunnel, but the gaps in the fins was too big for me.

so i went back over the whole grill addin more fins from the same copper sheetin i liberated from work, but they took abit of time to do and they were very fiddly.

and here is the finished effect,i`ve rapped electrical tape around the whole thing so i could file down the add on`s to the right size without scratchin it all up before i spray it up with primer.

hope ya like the images and the update

.cheers peza...:)

eh up here is my progress from this week.

first off i mocked up the new tunnel and cockpit but it was too long,so i had to cut the old tunnel back, but first i had to take off the armour plates and line the inside of the old tunnel with some half mm thick styrene and glue the new tunnel with grill into place.

even with all the care i could i cut it wrong but not to worry, next i used some milliput white(superfine) and a wooden ice lolly stick to apply it to the gap in the tunnel, and wettin it up i could get it smoothed out and pretty close to the finished level all round.

next i sanded it down which did`nt take to long, and start puttin the armour plates back on the one`s on the inside of the cockpit fitted ok,but the outer side i had to make some new one`s .

and finally i gave it a coat of primer and it came out pretty good,so i`m gonna leave the interior for now til i get some more of the side details done and the dockin rings.

so thats it for this update...i hope ya like!...cheers peza

eh up all.

i`ve been doin a bit more this week,i`ve left the cockpit area now and started on the mandibles side detail on the cockpit side first. here is my progress so far

first off i made up a base plate for the bit i`m makin with a bit of a pen cut down to size,on this image you can see the photo printout(my reference picture) to guide me on what i`m buildin.

next i started knockin up the ribs on 1 side for the skin to shape to.

then i put a double layer  of 1mm thick styrene because i`ve got to give the top a rounded off edge.

sorry for that fuzzy image,i must of had a bit of hand wobble!lol

the next stage was to skin that part and sand the top all around that double skin.

and next i wanted to shoot it in primer just to see if the gaps where shockin or ok,and they came out alright

there are gonna be lots of fins to go on the surface, i`ve made a start but i think these are gonna take me awhile, but slowly slowly!

well thats it for this post,i`m gonna get it finished before i do another post, hope ya like cheers peza...

eh up all here is another update for y`all.

firstly i got the gearbox part finished and mounted to the rest of the mandible detail, which took some time to complete makin each bit.

next i started on the dockin bay ring, i made up the base plate which i realised i can`t glue it into place if i ever wish to break the model into 2 halves again to get to the lights,so i`ll have to use my magnets once again...god bless magnets!next the cone i used a Mcdonalds beaker for the shape and profiled taper, which i rapped 2 layer`s of half mm thick styrene.

then after that i started on the armour platin around the outside of the ring and usin my dremel and various drill bit`s and cuttin disk`s it came out like this.

and finally i started on the inner and outer detail of the ring,i have`nt finished it off yet but you can get the idea.lookin forward to the primer stage just to see if all the gaps are nice and tight!

well that`s it for now.cheers for lookin..peza
