Its Microgrammar, or Eurostile which is very similar. this was used on all vehicles and logos in UFO.

Cool.  Have that one and in fact did a decal sheet of it years ago.  Slipped my mind!!

Well have checked and Eurostile/Microgamma doesn`t match that particular text.  The S in particular is a completely different shape.

My bad, the clue is in the question. That one was UFO, not Scarlet.

Vauxhall petrol blue- had some knocking around in the garage .A sort of Scarlet mid season SPV colour....sort of.

That`s the font from the credits but it`s certainly not the one used for the SPV on the side.  It`s a much wider font and the shapes are quite different.  Probably going to end up something quite boring like Helvetica....

This thread talks about it being Compacta Bold, which is quite close as far as I can see.
