Re: EVA Foam strength

Just wondering if anyone has had experience of attaching items to EVA Foam? Am looking at attaching straps and metal to a foam underlay and was wondering what the best way to go about this? Do I use rivets, how do I stop it tearing, etc?

Grateful for any input.

Well, you can drill through foam and, as long as you use decently wide washers, tha should be ok.

I prefer to use E6000 glue though - sticks very well, but to make the best bond possible, its better to roughly sand the area of foam where the glue is going to go.

Hope that helps?

Cheers all,

This is for the pauldron I am planning that will have a foam underlay for comfort, with a steel overlay. I will then be attaching leather straps to it somehow ...
