Re: Intro...

As you may have seen already from the various posts about the Star Wars Weekend a few of us attending a couple of weeks ago we had a great time, got really positive feedback from everyone and have been invited back next year.

We have been given a lot more space (in fact a separate area just for us) which includes a large table which we can set up on.

Those of us who attended have discussed this in some depth, both at the event and since, and decided to put together a number of new builds which will form the core of our new Star Wars themed display.  The table will accommodate ~6 but we`re just aiming for 4 in the next year with a view to adding  more the following year and then potentially retiring and replacing them as we go along.

These will be substantive scenes and we`d really like as many people to be involved as possible.  You wont have to attend the day, and in fact attendance will be quite limited I`m afraid, but you can send any build via the post or I can arrange for courier pickup. The builds will each be managed by 1 person and what they will be looking for will vary.

Details of the individual scenes will be announced shortly but we`ve got a lot of work ahead of us to get this ready for next June, so really looking for enthusiastic help to make something really spectacular.

Details of individual builds coming shortly.

I`d be glad to contribute in some way.

I also have a significant star wars themed scratch-build bubbling away in my head. It`s early days. I`ll let you know when the ideas have fermented somewhat.

It`s OK, it`s not a secret.

Its one of these:

Not sure of the scale yet.

It`s OK if it does not fit what you want. I am still happy to do side projects too.

I also have a scratch-built corellian heavy freighter of my own design I might make some time too. But that would probably be next year.

Hi Paul

We`re working on displays rather than single builds, take a look at the one I`ve posted about. But would welcome additional parts for the display and big scratchbuilds would certainly be part of that.

That`s cool Alun. As I say, I am making them anyway, they can either be useful for a display or not as the case may be. but I am more than happy to help making things for displays as well.
