Re: Flexible extractor ducting

Does anyone know of a supplier of flexible extractor ducting?

I put together a small spray booth over the weekend and the fan is 172mm diameter, spent most of the weekend looking online for ducting, but it seems a bit of an oddball size.

Closest I can find is 178mm, but for 2 metres plus the clamps, comes in at almost £100, bit steep!

It needs to be flexible as I plan to hang it up when not in use to save precious workbench space.

I had a similar issue a few years back when I did the same thing.  I found some ducting which was being sold for hydroponics (presumably for people to grow wacky backy, so I`m probably on a watch list somewhere).  I packed it up when we moved houses and unlikely to use it again to be honest, so I can try and find it in the garage and check the size.  If it fits you can have it for the price of the postage.

It`s silver ducting of the same type you`d use for a tumble dryer so should work fine for what you want.

That would be brilliant thanks, if it`s not too much trouble, anything like our garage and you need a Sherpa to guide you through the piles of junk!

Been asking at work all week, some of the machines we have use extraction, but everything is either way too big or too small.

Found something close on ebay, but it doesn`t finish for a few days, saw the stuff listed for hydroponics and that would do fine if the size is close enough.

Thanks again.

Well unfortunately you`re right. Couldn`t find it tonight but will have a look again when I get more time at the weekend.

Really sorry but blowed if I can find the box that this is stored in.  Thought it was in with my airbrush and compressor but it`s not in that (which I eventually found under about 4 other boxes).

It`s there somewhere but just can`t locate it at the moment.

No problem,

Found some on ebay that is a bit small, but think it should have enough give in it to fit over the fan.

The positive side is that it`s a standard size, so if I need any accessories to fit it, wall outlets etc. should be easier to find.

It`s only a tenner delivered too so not a bad price.

Thanks for looking, there are boxes in our garage that haven`t been touched for at least five years, god only knows what`s in them!
