Re: Next Gen Comp-Galor Class

Next I mixed up sandy colour for the base. i was very particular to get it just right, a complete waste of time as it was totally obscured by all the panel detail later. Same for the pre-shading.

After the base I started to differentiate some panels. I have a picture of the first pass only I;m afraid, I did many more than this.

After a lot of panel work, detail painting and a bit of weathering applied with the airbrush I was ready to seal it and apply decals. Obviously I no longer had the original decals but I found a free download set on Starship Modeler and printed these off onto decal paper. They weren`t great, a bit undersized I would say. If I did it again I would make them bigger before printing.

Then a sealed it all under a matt coat. I need to do another coat of this as the surface still has a slight sheen to it.

The last thing to do, for now was a `gulp` light test. Fingers crossed!

All thats left is to finalise the base, maybe add a bit more weathering, though I always overdo this so I might hold off, and try to dull the surface down a little.

So thats my entry nearly there, i`ll do some different pics for the final entry post.

That`s a great build Steve! Loving the panelling you`ve done on it, which looks like a lot of effort and work went into.

Looks great!

Thanks, yes they are airbrushed against various shaped masks cut from masking paper and straight edges of paper.

To be honest I ended up rushing it as I wanted to take it to Crewe so I had at least one thing new to show. Hopefully that doesn`t show to much.
