Re: Spidey sense is tingling

Ok so got some Xmas holiday time approaching and need to get something else built for the table at Crewe next Feb. Lets have a crack at my favourite Marvel character Spiderman and his arch nemesis the Green Goblin produced by Moebius. First up Spidey:

Kit parts:

Best approach is to build him up as sub-assemblies (something I don`t like doing tbh). I`ve cut off all the locating tabs and glued up the pieces using plastic weld. The seam lines are nicely hidden in the costume web lines but will still require a bit of work to make a decent job.

Assemblies:

I`ll give it a sand down and a coat of primer and see how he looks.

Gave all the joints a quick tickle with a sanding stick then a coat of the ubiquitous Halfords grey. Couple of issues to address, mainly the joints between legs and waist.

Here`s a perfect example of why I hate painting sub-assemblies before putting them together:

I`ve filled these with Aves. Whilst it`s drying lets have a look at the base.

Base parts:

And constructed:

Meanwhile whilst the wall crawler is still drying I`ve started work on his arch nemesis Harry Osbourne, aka The Green Goblin.

Box art:

Kit parts:

Again with the Goblin you can add the legs and head to the torso but leave off the arms to ease the painting. The glider goes together very well and has greater detail than the old Horizon version:

I`ll get some primer on this lot and see what horrors unfold!.

I seem to recall you cutting him up Brian. I did try to find your Heroes and Villains build diary before I started mine but it seems to have gone AWOL with the site shifting from new to old.

They are a pretty good pair of kits aren`t they?.

What you up to atm?.

Base coat of Vallejo red. Shaded by adding a tint of Vallejo blue and highlighted by Vallejo Vermillion:

Sealed with Dullcote then onto basing the blues.

Started on the webb lines to Spidey`s costume and to break the monotony a bit I started on the Goblins paint as well. :

Base paint with shading:

And some demonic looking eyes. I just couldn`t bring myself to paint them in the Moebius recommended colour of white !:
