Bandai 1/12 Shadow trooper

James Porter » Mar 28 '16

well this is my next project, the bandai shadow trooper. not strictly a star wars figure from the original films, i thought it would make a nice change from all those white storm troopers, even the box is blacked out, so secret are these troopers for the empire!

top secret box

what the figure will look like once he is finished:

and this is as far as i have got tonight with this figure:

Love to see conversions of this kit, they lend themselves so well to modifications and custom paint jobs.

Not sure if you saw this, but this was my Commando customisation: http://onesprueatatime.co.uk/viewtopic/5/305/112_bandai_stormtrooper_conversion_-_commando.html

Hi Mark,

No i must admit i hadn't seen taht conversion of the kit to produce that Commando version,

it does look great though.

legs and belt area have now been completed and i over came the issues i had with the last kit

this time with no bother.

My bad, I thought this was a conversion, not another variant kit - I was wondering how you were getting the black paint to stay nice and shiny!

Looking great so far!

Eric, i know what you mean, they are very addictive and easy to build.

I have now completed his right arm, including his hand and i hope to post some pictures soon

construction phase has now been completed, i don't think i will bother with most of the decals as i feel it makes the figure look comical and takes away some of the sinister nature of the figure.

That's a great build!  Not seen him amongst the Bandai figures but highly tempted to repaint a regular trooper now to do a version like this!

Here is my rendition of bandai' 1/12 Shadow Stormtrooper.

i was asked at a recent model show wehre i had got it and if it was available to buy at the show.... if i had know it was going to be that popular i would have sold some there myself.

Anyway the kit goes together exactly the same as the standard stormtrooper and indeed shares the same instructions.
