so I primed Rocket Raccoon with what I thought was acrylic primer.. I was wrong, its solvent based and now Rocket is tacky.

I obviously need to strip off the primer and start again, what do you guys recommend for stripping vinyl?

Oven cleaner has worked great for me on vinyl plenty of times. Don`t go buying expensive stuff either, cheap poundland/home bargains stuff is just fine. Submerge the parts overnight and then wash or scrub off with an old toothbrush. Repeat if required.

Obviously I don`t know what kind of primer your dealing with here, so this is just my experience in the past. It might not work on solvent based.

Thanks guys first pass with oven cleaner got about 75% off. will do a second run and then a toothbrush.

The primer for reference was plasti-kote.

I usually use Halford primer but I had run out.. classic case of more haste less speed.

I`ve used Halfords for literally decades but just recently tried some Hycote brand from The Range - seems to be just as good but for half the price
