With Alun starting up the theme weeks I shockingly realised I`ve never painted up anything Alien related.......time to change that then!

Nice enough kit, easy build only took a couple of hours to get it built and into primer:

Lets see if I can get it painted before the theme week ends and Crewe arrives!

Not a bad pose on that kit, some nice detail too. Interested to see the progress.

Question is do I keep it tan(ish) film colours or do I go my own route and do whatever I want?

Go your own route I would say. Was never that keen on the tan but with some heavy washes and darkening down it would probably look good.

personally I liked the film and the kit.. the Directors cuts the best one though.. as to the kit the pose aint bad but I did end up altering mines to something  I considered a bit more aggressive..

me, I like the brown,, Ive seen it done in lighter shades but still think it looks better darker but its your own choice so fire away, im sure it`ll look great..

Best go add my pics to this months feature too now I found the pics

I like the film, never did understand why it gets slated as much as it does.....

1992 and I`d just turned 21 and as a birthday present my parents gave me a ticket to the USA and I saw the film on the day of release in Chicago....

I agree with Alun, the tan just doesn`t look as good, but it`s your kit, so go for what feels best. As for the movie itself, it wasn`t as bad as everyone made out, but it could have been so much better. I am slightly biased though because I am a big fan of William Gibson and I think his original script was a better continuation of the story from Aliens.

And really that was the main issue most people had; it wasn`t Aliens 2. I think Alien 3 is dealt with a bit harshly, for some reason Alien Resurrection and Prometheus aren`t slated as much, and they so deserve to be. They are both dreadful additions to the franchise.

Deadline!.....love a good challenge.....nearly done, only got a few touches to finish and the base...no problem:

Did something a little different with the skull colours:

Skin colours are a very deep leathery brown with drybrushed highlights:

No airbrush.....all hand painted and a couple of coats of Mig Wet Earth effect (which is just a very thick high gloss varnish).I`ve decided not to use the clear dome that comes with the kit because it just looks naff....

He`s (she?) done I just need to get some pics up of the very wet base!!!
