Recent works.

Its been an absolute age since I posted anything, as always its work, work, work, blah, blah, blah heard it all before I know. ..... inbetween that and training my working cocker spaniel I have managed to get a few things built and painted.

First up one of these old 'uns I did as an  Xmas present for one of my guys at works son who's a massive Who fan....

Next up I've been working on various pieces for the next Star Wars weekend show which is only 6 months away......I've been scouring online for suitable CHEAP kits and have came up with a few, first being this old turkey from way back in the mists of time, Jabbas Palace...

I did a fair bit of prep work on this one, mainly adding clay to the outer walls to get rid of the flat kit parts as supplied and get some texture on them, I think it worked out pretty good.

Next up a ridiculously cheap set of plastic busts that were given away with Kellogs cereal back when Phantom Menace came out, this lot cost me £3 .....excuse my not very good miniature painting skills, these things stand about 50mm high, I'm going to go back for another look at the human ones as I'm not that happy with their eyes.....the creatures were a lot easier!

Thats just a temporary base I need to sort out something more suitable.....

And finaly more to my liking and not needing a bloody magnifying glass to see is this 1:6 resin kit called Captive Princess:

Tbh it's not that great a kit, the details in the sculpt are very soft in places and the face is not that good a likeness to the princess. The costume deatils are pretty accurate but I did replace the length of chain that came with the kit with a bigger sized link one as the original was way to small. I added some green slime/blood onto the dias as it reminded me of te scene where Jabba eats his lunch!....

Nice to see you back Pete- Jabba's Palace looks pretty cool! The Leia face isn't quite right as you say but great paint job as usual.
