Re: Builder`s Block!

Yep, got a severe case of it - although it`s not because I`m not in the mood for glue fumes etc, just that since I moved all my stuff into our bedroom I`ve been unable to find things so I can do my usual thing; cutting, sanding, gluing, painting. Hell, can`t even find the Star Trek shuttle I was working on before the move. Sigh.

It may be a while before you guys see even the little I did use to post, in the way of progress, as I have still to find all the tubs of kit parts, the paints, my supply of plastic sheet. I do have a chair and the corner desk so there is a plus side. :-) (what`s happened to the smiley faces selection?).

The biggest problem really is the total lack of space and the fact that with this being our bedroom in which our little girl is still sleeping I just don`t get the time to myself, to do much at all.

Going to be hacking out the utility room as soon as possible and when we get some decent, warm weather, so I can have a proper work space. Once I`ve got the current builds sorted I want to start doing a couple of studio scale builds. Will certainly will have the space to do them in the utility room.

You have my sympathies Martin.  I lost my model room when we moved house and since then have been doing everything sitting on the floor with a cutting mat on my lap.  Has also meant that I can`t do any spraying of anything, so it`s out the garden with a rattle can to bung on paint and no airbrush.

You can get good stuff done though and I`ve been quite pleased with some of the kits I`ve completed during this time.

Keep at it and sure you`ll get some stuff done.  Focusing on what`s achievable works for me and trying not to deviate from my planned sequence.

Martin you know you could pop down to hayle for the model club monthly meet and re ignite your builders block. 2nd wednesday of march 7-10 in the air cadet building.
Would also be good to have a catch up.

Re: Builder`s Block!

Cheers Alun. In fact I made an effort today and sat down in the lounge and continued with some alterations I started making a while ago, to a couple of 1/12 F1 drivers. I had hacked them up with a saw and started re-posing/building up to fit the Esci 1/12 F-16 cockpit; it`s part of a very long term project I`ve tinkered with for several months. Because it can be done on the lap meant I was able to get a little time in...at last! I`ll try to post pics sometime.

Paul, I will do my best and get down there, if at all possible. I think I owe you a box of kit parts and household bits etc anyway, don`t I? :-)
Actually it would be ace to get together with you, and Russell if he`s around, as I`ve got a couple of ideas for a space fighter, @ 1/24, that I want to make in resin. Would be great to kick some ideas around - something I really don`t get to do out here in the model-making desert that is Clay Country. I`ll drop you a line, mate, and let you know when I can get down there.

Be great to see you at the meet. Usually around 40 of us turn up to the monthly.
Honestly cant remember about the kit parts/household stuff great if you do but no worries if not.
I have a random lot of 1/24 parts if you want them. I wil dig them out and chuck them in a box.

Cheers mate! Will be there this Wednesday for sure, natural disasters not withstanding.

Do you want/need any electronics stuff at all? Pcb boards, wire, motors...er, stuff in general? Got a thumping great big box full of the stuff. Also got some terminals and the like, sometimes handy for small detailing. Give me a shout and I`ll scare up a box of the stuff for you.
