'The Howling' resin bust

Gareth James » Dec 6 '15

Quality is really impressive on this- not sure who its sculpted by though. Nice base incorporating the original film poster design and its all survived the casting process pretty well. I've filled and sanded ready for some primer. The film werewolf design is a classic with those big pointy ole' ears- its influence very apparent in 'Dog Soldiers' decades later.

Thanks for that Brian, checked his FB page out and he's no slouch for sure- some amazing sculpts. Couple of progress shots- base starting to come together.

Ok base is pretty much done- difficult to paint the face due to the recess of the sculpt. Started the wolf, base coat on and the start of a Citadel 'nulan oil' wash to the prominent part of the mane- or whatever its called in lycanthrope terms!

Looks like I've got the site to myself so I'll sneak in a quick update- first round of shading on, mouth hands and eyes still to go.

Yes, super quiet on here at the moment.  Been busy getting some decorating done ahead of Christmas!

He's looking great with some really nice tones in his fur. Hate to be picky but can see the join on the shoulder, but that really is picky and must be a nightmare to hide with all that texturing.
